Oshiwara police have booked a 60-year-old housewife from Andheri west for illegally employing a 14-year-old girl. The girl told the police she was forced to do household chores and wasn't given enough food.

MUMBAI: Oshiwara police have booked a 60-year-old housewife from Andheri west for illegally employing a 14-year-old girl. The girl told the police she was forced to do household chores and wasn't given enough food. The housewife, Tejinder Kaur, was admitted to a private hospital after she complained of ill health. She is yet to be arrested.
Kaur lives with her son who is a businessman.

The victim comes from an impoverished family in Delhi. A month ago, the victim was brought to Mumbai from Delhi after Kaur gave her mother some money.
A member of an NGO met the girl and shot a video clip of her ordeal.
The NGO then contacted the Oshiwara police with the video clip and a police team visited Kaur's flat and rescued her.
The police have registered an FIR against Kaur for unlawful compulsory labour under the IPC and also under the Child Labour Act.
